Members of the Nebraska Grocery Industry Association donate products for the Tailgate Parties at the Governor's Mansion that are held before home football games. Product is shipped through each member's wholesaler. Anyone interested in donating product can do so by calling the Association office at 800-433-6742 or by e-mailing the Association office (ksiefken@nebgrocery.com) with a "maximum value" donation. We will order product through the wholesaler and the retailer will be billed for that product. The "maximum value" is the maximum dollar value of the donation. Some companies have sponsored an entire Tailgate Party. Other companies have set a maximum limit that has ranged from $100 to $500. Those companies that sponsor products for any of the Tailgates are invited by NGIA, to attend a dinner at the Governor's Mansion.
